UK: Green space headed to cities and towns

A new initiative, called the Green Infrastructure Partnership, will encourage cities and towns to transform existing grey infrastructure into new green spaces such as rooftop gardens, small community gardens, and living walls. The two-year project, made up of planning professionals, landscape architects, and environmental interest groups and organizations, will create materials to support those looking to create a green space in their community. Recent research involving more than 350,000 people found that individuals who live near green space live longer and had lower health inequalities. DEFRA.
