US, UK: Statins cost four times more in the US
The cost of statins in the US is 400% more than in the UK, according to new research. The annual US cost for statins ranged from US$314 for generic medications to US$1428 for non-generic medications, while in the UK costs ranged from US$164 for generic medications and US$500 for non-generic medications.
