Nepal: Team scales sea to summit for heart disease
Led by the Nepal Heart Foundation, a team of doctors, mountaineers, and educators are heading from the sea-level of Bangladesh to Mount Everest - the world's highest mountain - to raise awareness for heart disease. The Save Heart Expedition will hold advocacy events along the way, showing that people living at all altitudes can change their lifestyles to prevent heart disease. The team will also carry a special flag with messages related to seven factors for preventing heart disease - treating throat infections in children, eliminating tobacco use, healthy diets, physical activity, knowing your numbers, treating hypertension and diabetes, and controlling your emotions.
