Mauritius: Ramping up smoking ban enforcement

Enforcing the ban on smoking in public places and workplaces, as well as tight regulations around the sale of cigarettes will be strengthened, according to Lormus Bundhoo, the Minister of Health and Quality of Live. Also, a new set of graphic warnings will appear on cigarettes packages. "Mauritius has one of the toughest tobacco legislation in the world," said Mr Bundhoo. "Mauritius was the first African country to implement graphic health warnings on cigarettes packages." Daily Nation.
